FAQ’s on Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression - NSSD - & Treatment Options
PAIN CONTROL
Inflammation, painful spasm, heat, redness, soreness, bruising, joint and/or tissue stress, sensitivity may require measures to relieve pain. Management may be required in chronic cases. We will prescribe the most effective pain relief method for each individual.
Some conditions require strengthening after injury. This may be the case when there is a loss of strength, a decrease in the range of motion of a joint or a decrease in function, performance or endurance. An exercise or rehab program can stabilize, return to pre-injury status and prevent recurrence.

CORE STRENGTHENING
We offer the additional support of "Core Strengthening and Muscle Stabilization". This is a rehab procedure which has proven invaluable for our patients who have been injured, have severe or long standing (chronic) problems, disc degeneration or for those who will be engaging in strenuous activities.
The physicians at SpinalAid Centers of America are dedicated to providing the option of non-surgical decompression therapy to our patients. Existing nationwide, we focus on delivering the high quality decompression therapy for the treatment of chronic and severe back pain.
We believe in educating our patients, providing choices, offering options and encouraging patients to take an active role in their own treatment.
It is published that most “medical errors” occur when patients are not given the opportunity to make decisions about their treatment options. It is known that patients make the quickest recovery when they make choices and are active in their care plan and that’s what we offer.
The decompression approach is conservative therapy that gets maximum results in the most convenient setting. People want to know their doctor cares about them enough to provide options and not leave them wondering, “where do I go?” or “who can I depend on?”
The physicians in our network are dedicated to providing you this state of the art therapy and options for relief and cure of your chronic and severe pain
We recognize that a large percentage of our new patients will present with a failed back syndrome. Realizing that you have been coping with pain, which is likely to be chronic and often severe in nature, we will act quickly to determine if you are candidate for the medical breakthrough technology of decompression and if so, get you started right away on the road to a better quality of life.

DISC HERNIATION, also knows as; Pinched nerve, Sciatica, Herniated disc (or herniated disk), Bulging disc, Ruptured disc, Torn disc (or disc tear), Slipped disc, Collapsed disc, Disc protrusion, Disc degeneration, Degenerative disc disease, Disc disease, Black disc... And that'just English!
Truth is, there are many different terms used to describe the reasons for spinal disc herniation and the pain most often associated with it. Unfortunately, there is no agreement in the healthcare field as to the precise definition of any of these terms. Often the patient hears his or her diagnosis referred to in different terms by different practitioners and is left wondering if there is any consensus on what is wrong.
DEGENERATIVE SPONDYLOLISTHESIS rupture or degeneration facet / Arthrosis Syndrome
Every level of the spine is composed of a disc in the front and paired facet joints in the back. The disc acts as a shock absorber in between the vertebrae, whereas the paired facet joints restrain motion. They allow the spine to bend forwards (flexion) and backwards (extension) but do not allow for a lot of rotation. As the facet joints age, they can become incompetent and allow too much flexion, allowing one vertebral body to slip forward on the other. This slippage is known as a degenerative spondylolisthesis, which is Latin for “slipped vertebral body.” Degenerative spondylolisthesis is far more common in individuals older than 65 and is more common in females than males by a 3:1 margin.
SPONDYLOLISTHESIS is a back injury involving a forward slipping of one vertebra over another and is most commonly seen in children between the ages of 9 and 14. It is also more common in sports that have a lot of strain on the back for example throwing events, wrestling, weight lifting and gymnastics. The risk of forward slipping in people over the age of twenty five is very small. It is usually the fifth or bottom lumbar vertebrae that is involved by slipping forward over the S1 (top bone of the sacrum).
